Press Announcement

Everest Technologies has announced [August 15, 2018] their merger with Wolfinger Forensics, LLC
, and the appointment of its co-founder, Brian T. Wolfinger, as their CTO. He assumed responsibilities on August 13th.

Mr. Wolfinger has been involved with digital forensics since the 1990s and joined the eDiscovery industry for the first time in 2005 with the founding of LDiscovery (now KLDiscovery). He retired from LDiscovery 6 months after their recapitalization by The Carlyle Group, and founded Wolfinger Forensics, along with his wife, to get back to his beginnings as a digital forensics expert.

“I’m looking forward to working with this incredible team and trying to expand on what they’ve done so far,” said Mr. Wolfinger. “It is a natural fit to add in digital forensics and collections with Everest’s other services, and their offerings complement ours also. On top of that, I get to work with people that I consider friends and have known for years. Everest is a family-oriented company and I’m grateful to be the latest part of that, plus I’m proud to associate the brand we created at Wolfinger Forensics with these great people. I feel it is a perfect fit for both companies and all of our clients.”

“I’m really excited to have Brian join our team, and to merge our great company with his,” said Tom Pellegrino, CEO of Everest Technologies. “I watched from a distance, and then from the inside, as he and his partners took LDiscovery from a 4-person company to a global force in the industry. To have his years of experience working inside some of the largest cases in the country, and within one of the industry’s largest vendors, is a huge benefit to us and to our clients. He is a good friend, and I couldn’t be happier to be working with him again.”

The terms of the merger have not been disclosed.

Mr. Wolfinger has been in the digital forensics and eDiscovery industries across three decades. He began his career in digital evidence as a Detective for the City of Philadelphia in the late 1990s. In 2003, he left law enforcement to join Internet Security Systems’ renowned X-Force Incident Response team. In 2005, Mr. Wolfinger was one of the original four people who opened LDiscovery. He joined to be the architect of the technical infrastructure and offerings of the business. He retired in June of 2016 as CISO and VP of Technology after 11+ years, 10 acquisitions and 2 successful recapitalizations. Mr. Wolfinger, along with his wife, founded Wolfinger Forensics in 2016 after his retirement from LDiscovery, with the intention of providing thorough, fairly-priced services in the arenas of digital forensics, data collection, and online investigations.
