The Law Bulletin Publishing Company has just published its 8th Annual eDiscovery and Technology Survey of Illinois attorneys in the Legal Technology Update to Chicago Lawyer magazine. The survey is conducted every year by Tom O’Connor, senior ESI consultant at Advanced Discovery. This year the survey asked a number of specific questions regarding attorneys’ experience with eDiscovery matters, vendors and products.

What leaps out as a new issue of prominence this year is technical competence. It seems that the scope of many rule changes and bar association opinions that began in 2014 and continued this year led 33 percent of the respondents to cite technical competence a major issue, putting it second only to price.
