John Rosenthal is Partner and Chair of the eDiscovery & Information Governance Practice at Winston & Strawn LLP, where he represents clients in an array of complex commercial litigation and MDL matters. John is considered a leading practitioner globally on the issues of e-discovery, information governance and privacy. John supervises a team of lawyers, project managers and technologists providing a wide array of services across the electronic discovery reference model. He also acts as national e-discovery counsel for numerous corporations. John is a former steering committee member of Working Group 1 of the Sedona Conference on Best Practices for Electronic Discovery and Records Management, a group of lawyers, judges, and vendors focusing on the development of the law regarding electronic discovery and retention issues. John is also a participant in Working Group 6 of the Sedona Conference International Electronic Information Management, Discovery and Disclosure, which focuses on international issues relating to disclosure, cross-border discovery, and privacy. John is also a member of the Advisory Board to the Georgetown Law School E-Discovery Institute. He was co-chair of the FJC – EDI Judicial Training program from 2017 to 2019. He is the editor-in-chief of the eDiscovery Advantage. He has also authored or been a contributing author several seminal writings in the e-discovery field.
