Welcome to the 2024 edition of Andrew Haslam’s eDisclosure Systems Buyers Guide, now supported by ComplexDiscovery, an online publication for cybersecurity, information governance, and eDiscovery professionals. This updated version begins to integrate eDiscovery into the guide, providing the latest information available on market information, eDisclosure and eDiscovery processes and protocols, and selected eDisclosure and eDiscovery services and software vendors.
The Guide is designed for those who understand they have a requirement for litigation support, eDisclosure, or eDiscovery systems, but do not know how to proceed. Potential readers of the Guide include end-users such as lawyers, barristers, in-house counsel, or IT departments. The Guide provides information to help these individuals arrive at a shortlist of potential vendors, rather than identifying the “best” software or supplier.
The originator of the Guide, Andrew Haslam, UK eDisclosure Project Manager for Squire Patton Boggs (UK) LLP, has used his experience in the marketplace and vendor procurement exercises to create the Guide. The 2024 edition editor, ComplexDiscovery, has moderated the information provided on firms and software tools, and in most cases, the information has been provided by the organizations themselves, highlighted from public sources, or provided in previous editions of the Guide.
The Guide includes a background to the marketplace, an overview of the EDRM model, a chapter on technology areas, and an in-depth survey of the marketplace, vendors, and current issues. The procurement chapter provides example requirements for scanning, coding, data collection, and litigation support services, with a reference chapter for additional links to useful sites and specific details of suppliers and software.
The Guide Introduction takes the reader through the process of eDisclosure and eDiscovery, defining what it means and what it does not mean, and progresses through the various stages of the procedure.
